Starting out today walk from the attractive Cheshire village of Acton, which is mentioned in the Dooms Day book of 1086 and the site of the 1644 Battle of Nantwich in the English Civil war.
The walk today was following one of the KITTIWAKE books-"Llangollen canal"-walk number 35.
Staring point is the village Car-park at Grid 633530.
A very flat walk over waymarked fields to the Llangollan following this a detour to Snugburys ice cream to see the giant straw sculpture of peter rabbit and a ice cream, back onto the Llangollan canal to its termination point at the Shropshire canal following the canal back to Acton with a look at the battle site of 1644
