roll on lighter mornings early start this morning starting at the tiny hamlet of pilleth in Radnorshire, which was once one of the greatest battles between the Olwen Glydwrs welsh army and the English Lord Mortimer, oddly enought i parked on the mid line that ran through the battle sight where the two faced armys each other.
Radnor forest sits like a giant jelly mold of a mountain. with the forest reaching nearly the summit with its TV transmitter on the summit which Black Mixen is the only mountain with TV tower on the summit, if you climbed to the top you would be twice a high as the shard in London. most of the hike was reached forest tracks and some ooen access land.
Really poor visabilty on the summit so i aborted the next peak of Great Rhos at 1.5 km of the summit the ground and visabilty was just to much.I have posted photos along the was and a look around the church on the grounds of the battle of pillith after the walk . I went from extreame weather at over 2000ft above sea level to a brilliant weather back on the lower reaches of Pilleth.
